History in the Industry

David Weinert has excelled in the shopping center development industry for over 40 years. He was the Senior Executive Vice President of Leasing and a Senior Proxy Officer at both Taubman and Westfield, two of the most prestigious upscale shopping center developers in the world, with over 30 years experience in the public shopping center sector. Over the years he has created more than 1,000 retailer relationships (CEO’s, COO’s, and SVP's of RE), built upon mutual credibility and success. David led over 21 million sf of leasing ground-up new developments, which includes some of the most iconic and productive assets in retail.

Since Creating DWA

David Weinert & Associates was founded in 2016, and has since completed the following projects:

  • A successful mixed-use re-development of Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta

    • Retail development included; unique to market retailers, 12 restaurants, The Politan Food Hall, & iPic Movie Theater

  • DWA completed Phase 2 of Avalon in Alpharetta, Georgia

    • Regarded as one of the best mixed-use developments in the country

  • Acquired and redeveloped 6 mixed-use buildings in Grosse Pointe, Michigan with retail and office/residential above

  • DWA was an equity partner in the Outlets of Maui, leading the re-merchandising with high-quality and unique to market tenants

  • Engaged with developing & investing in compelling single-tenant retail projects such as Mister Car Wash and AT&T

  • DWA was awarded the RFP to re-imagine and re-develop Downtown Fresno, creating Fulton Street Outlets - 560,000 sf of retail.

  • DWA is the Development Parter of Nova Vista, a 400,000 sf mixed-used retail development in North Fresno, totaling 1 million sf at full build-out
